Before grooming – the leg inspection

As you did with a hoof you do the same with legs. 

  1. Checking muscles and skin of the upper legs?
  • You should feel everything, high to bottom. Don’t forget the crevices around elbows and stifles. Ticks like to find yourself there. therefore cozy altogether of these wrinkles!

  • The key to nipping this in the bud is typing your fingertips. the myriad reasons your horse’s skin forms. Is it bacterial? Photosensitivity? An allergy? Quickly call your veterinarian to find the source of the problem. Otherwise, you are wasting your time looking for “internet solutions” instead of focusing on the real problem.   • In general, clean, dry legs with short or shorter hair are best for treating skin problems or infections. There are tons of wonderful products out there to help you keep it that way, from silver-impregnated cloth socks to waterproof leg covers.
